Often my clients are dogged by volumes of pitches for SEO services – both through email and blog comments. Even though the information they get is clearly spam, with the frequency of messages on SEO, it can be difficult for them to get a proper perspective of where SEO fits into a complete marketing plan.
If Google has not yet uncovered — and penalized — an SEO trick, you can be confident they continue to pursue any shortcuts in attracting traffic without a good user experience.
The flip side of SEO is content marketing. Good content attracts readers, quality links — and good user experiences.
When clients ask me, should they read the latest SEO ebook sent to them by yet another spammer, I guide them to the writers who I respect and enjoy reading.
Kudos for DNN for their fun Infographic of some of the most respected B2B bloggers. If you are not going directly to the source, like Google’s Matt Cutts, you will find good, responsible reads from these authors.
You won’t find these authors spamming email or blog comments. They don’t need to. They provide answers and solutions to real issues and problems. And because their posts educate instead of sell — they attract large audiences and traffic.

I originally saw a reference to the infographic in Social Media Today. Dennis Shiao did a very nice job of describing each of the bloggers. You can catch his post at http://socialmediatoday.com/dshiao/1858296/ten-blogs-every-marketer-should-read
I have been asked where I originally found the source for this.
